How it connects
Hikvision recorders are the most common kit we meet, and the connector knows the channel addresses for the family — including the HiLook and Annke boxes built on the same platform. You give it the recorder's login once; it enumerates the channels itself and shows you a still from every one before a single camera is created.
What this kit needs
Four things, and most of it already has them.
- Reaches your recorder
- The cameras are already on the same network as the DVR or NVR.
- RTSP switched on
- Standard on every recorder here. Setup tells you if it's off.
- H.264 or H.265
- Anything from the last decade. Older MPEG-only kit won't work.
- Clock roughly right
- So the time on your alert matches the time on your footage.
