Why the cameras are usually enough already
A dining room is usually already covered: cameras over the counter, over the floor, and on the door, all running into one recorder in the back. That is exactly the shape the connector expects — one login, every channel, no per-camera setup.
What the connector needs
Four things, and most kit already has them.
- Reaches your recorder
- The cameras are already on the same network as the DVR or NVR.
- RTSP switched on
- Standard on every recorder here. Setup tells you if it's off.
- H.264 or H.265
- Anything from the last decade. Older MPEG-only kit won't work.
- Clock roughly right
- So the time on your alert matches the time on your footage.
Worth checking first here: The clock. Kitchen recorders drift, and the time on your alert should match the time on your footage when you go back to look.
What it costs to cover the whole place
- Every camera, one price
- Unlimited cameras on every plan — the AI runs on a small computer on site, so cameras cost us nothing and we don’t charge you for them.
- Alerts are never metered
- However many messages a busy day produces, you are never charged per message.
- No new hardware
- Your cameras and your recorder stay exactly where they are.
What it will not do
It does not recognise people. It counts them and reads the scene — it never knows who anyone is, and that does not change because of what kind of place you run.
